| Research:
I am interested in how directional cues such as other people's gaze direction, and arrows, cause us to shift our attention quickly and automatically through space. Several lines of evidence indicate that this type of orienting is a different type of orienting from the reflexive and voluntary orienting traditionally studied in the lab. I investigate this recently discovered form of visual attention from a cognitive neuroscience point of view, by examining the effects of directional cues on manual responses, eye movement responses, and brain activation. |
